Dancing with her baby!

April 2012.....18 months, Elizabeth is 27 pounds and 32 inches. At her 18 month appointment the doc said she's doing everything she's supposed to...She's in the 85percentile for height and weight. WOW!  What a blessed life we have. Just today Audie and I were talking on the way home from school (sometimes he and Elizabeth take him and pick me up from work) and we were sharing our amazement with our little Elizabeth.... I asked him, "Does every parent think their child is as miraculous as we do?"  I mean, seriously..... she is just so special, truly a miracle!

I'll start with some of her favorite sayings at the moment:

Baby ci-ing, baby ci-ing, wipe uh tears, wipe uh tears....... This started from a book of baby pictures, one of babies is crying and we always talk about the 'baby crying' and we wipe her tears and then she's 'all better'..... Elizabeth caught on to that, now every time she cries she says this... It's so funny and precious, good thing is when I wipe her tears she stops crying, I wonder how long this will last.

Heady cib... This means she wants to lay down in her crib and put her head down, yep, you heard me!  My daughter WANTS to go in her crib, the same child who slept in a bouncy chair for 9 months!!! So sweet to hear her say it.  She likes her butt patted and off to sleep she goes, yep, you heard me!!!!  Her sleep patterns have definitely been shifting. AND NO MORE BOTTLES!!!!!  I'll get to that story later!

She recently counted to 6 for me!  It was the sweetest thing ever.  Now she'll count for us all the time.  She is so smart!  She loves playing outside and many times gets her shoes and attempts to put them on.  She loves to play catch with her ball, blow bubbles, play in her water table (she used to play so calmly...until Nathan showed her how to splash...now it's a little messy!)

Water table fun!
She has been very 'easy' lately, I mean that in many ways...She's so gentle with other kids, she gets it when we say 'be easy'.  Her favorite thing to do with Nathan is kiss him, ever so softly!  She's been a much easier eater...her favorite foods are tomatoes (toe-picks), cucumbers (she says 'car parts'), cheese, cheese, and more cheese, noodles (she says 'noonles', she'll literally wake up yelling for them), and she's even ate some meat!  Her sleep patterns are much improved.  There are even some days I have to wake her up before I go to work (about 6:30), typically she wakes up at about 6 now.  She's sleeping through the night more and more nights, and when she does wake up I can many times get her back to sleep by rocking her, singing, or patting her....we haven't had car rides, play time at 4 am, or nightly marathons for awhile (fyi: I'm knocking on every piece of wood I can find right now!)  To go to sleep she'll lay down on me and fall asleep, sooooooooooooooo sweet!  She's becoming such a 'big girl'.  She's very easy to teach things do.  She listens well and wants to please us for the most part.

She was sick for a good 3 weeks...We took her to the doc twice, they gave us antibiotics (sinus infection) and she perked right up.  She wasn't eating well or sleeping well and it was obvious she felt like crud. Poor baby.  She threw up many times at night because she was coughing so hard.  That is very wearing, both emotionally and physically.  So hard to see your little one sick.  She did make me laugh though.  Every time she'd throw up she'd say 'mess'  and she'd be so upset that there was a mess.  She definitely got that from Audie! She hates getting food on her hands and says "joujou"  when she gets dirty and won't continue eating until you clean her hands!  She loves to wash her hands and even notices when you have something on you! Crazy girl!!!!

She is still obsessed with the moon and now includes 'pain' (planes).  She loves to sing Rain, Rain, go away.... and also I love you from Barney. When we go shopping she figures that's a good time to practice belting out those high notes, she must love the acoustics.... People just smile and wave at her!

Audie bought her a remote control plane so we'll see how that works out!  The other day we were outside playing and my dad and Terry were both there.... You could see her wheels turning.  She literally got a look of slight terror on her face and said "two gandpas".  It finally registered completely to her that there were 'two' of them... It truly scared her, she came running to me and wouldn't go to either of them!  It was so funny!
One of the days they picked me up from school..... her rocking horse was in the backseat..... I looked at Audie and he said "don't ask!"  She gets a little attached her to toys ; )

One month of school left...then some sleeping in (hopefully...) and quality time with my baby.  I hate that I miss so much of her days and every single day Audie tells me at least one new thing she learned or accomplished.  I'm so proud of her but so sad I miss it : (
